Apple Valley High School is starting a fund-raising effort, to raise funds for an all weather running surface at Newton T. Bass Stadium. Our effort involves two parts; the first part involves selling retaining wall blocks, which will be placed at the South end of the stadium adjacent to the entry ramp to the track area.  The blocks have a 16-inch wide front face, upon which we will place a 4” high by 6” wide plaque with your company or a name engraved on it. We are selling full blocks for $200.00, and have three other options available. Our goal is to sell at least 300 blocks, and raise a minimum of $60,000.

The second part involves a grant writing effort; many of the grants available to us require matching funds. Our hope is to be able to write several grants with a minimum of $60,000 in matchable funds.

The track area at Newton T. Bass stadium is currently host to several functions each year. In addition to being the home track for Apple Valley High School, the Town of Apple Valley uses the track for the annual town youth track meet, also the facility is used by the middle schools of Apple Valley Unified School District, several of the elementary schools in our area, the Lewis Center For Educational research and is used daily by local residents as a safe and secure walking area.
